First Aid
We have a number of staff qualified to undertake first aid. Where your child has been treated by a first aider for any cut, graze, bump or bruise, you will be notified.
Where a child has bumped their head and there is a visible mark or swelling, parents will be telephoned and/or sent a message with advice given on follow up treatment.
Where a child requires emergency treatment, this will be sought by the staff ‘in loco parentis’ until parents can be contacted.
Infection Control
We understand when children are together, the risk of spreading infectious diseases exists and that we have a duty to promote the good health and well-being of all of our children, to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection and to take necessary action when children are unwell.
We follow all guidance provided by the Government and Health Protection Agencies and are kept informed of any infectious diseases that are of concern to schools, which will be shared with parents as soon as reasonably practicable.

These guidelines are particularly important in the case of any infectious illness that might be spread.

Medication in school
From time to time your child may be well enough to attend school but requires medicine throughout the day. Please follow the link to access the school’s Medical Policy giving details of when this is possible and what information we need from you
